Screw-drivers for narrow slot Mannlicher screws?
      #222292 - 24/12/12 01:08 PM

Bought a nice condition 1908 MS in 8x56MS. I'll try to post some photos later. My set of screwdrivers (from B-Square) are too big to fit the very small slots on my Mannlicher. Is there a reasonably priced set of gunsmith screwdrivers that would be appropriate or do I need to modify the ones I have? I also remember someone selling 'English'(???) screwdrivers with wooden handles that were advertised for the narrow slots but again, I can't locate them now.

Also, my set trigger does not function. Does not engage the sear and stay set. The forward trigger is very smooth and about three pounds pull so the rifle is still functional. I seem to remember a firm in Germany selling Mannlicher parts but I can't find them now. Is there anyone that has parts available today? I'll know which parts are faulty when I'm able to take the rifle apart.

Wurger, I have one of those Brownells kits, they are great but buy the comprehensive one, not the smaller one, best, Mike

Hmmmm....I could have sworn they were refered to as 'English'(woden handle and fixed blade screwdriver made by an English Gunsmith individual or company), could be wrong.

I get enough of the "Posh English Voice" at home since my Wife is an English citizen as well as my daughter as a dual-citizen. But thanks.
