Back to the 6.5x57. Just arrived, unboxed and better than I thought from the photos. Happy Camper. Terrific trigger, bore looks new and bolt face appears not shot a lot. Ran a nylon brush down the bore with Ed's Red, waited a few minutes followed by a tight patch - came out with a bit of brownish dust is all. Next patch spotless. The stock looks as if it might have gotten wet a few times, but that's it. Scope has windage adjustable rear base and is of the 3 heavy post reticle with blunt-ish pointed one in the middle. Sharp and clear. Now to find brass for it. Local store had none and I have to wait for my bro to come back from the lake with my wallet. I forgot it there. Can't buy anything, let alone brass. Gun fits well. I really like the heads-up stance when shouldering the rifle, yet a good chunk of jaw & cheek rests on the cheek-piece. 9" ROT. |
