It was shot in the middle of nowhere - pure wilderness, 30min drive from the nearest road - that is the only reason big tuskers like this still exist in the wild. It was quite a hunt - those old masters are so clever and shy - there is always something to tell. He came already at 21h – at 30m - he just stood there in some thicket for 45 minutes without moving - it was eternety, then...he was off. Well - I thought that's it - he figured me out - game over. However I spoted him again - coming back from the opposite side – just to be stuck behind some bushes - for another half an hour. Like five times he only stuck his snout out and backed up again. Anyway, at 22:22 he finally stepped out and I shot him. ![]() 116 CIC points - Atypical, eccentric – an anomaly on the left tusk – estimated age well over 10 years – according to an experienced evaluator, 14–15 years. |
