They don't have the nutrition that you get in other parts of the world. It's pretty tough going up there in the Highlands. They are heavier before the rut. They spend the better part of two weeks in the rut and lose a lot of weight, not that they are that big to begin with. Consequently their antler growth is smaller than the same species in southern England or Europe. This one is considered a Royal because he has 12 points and yes, this is a very nice trophy for that part of the world.
