IMHO as far as self defense goes, the Super is somewhat better. It's like comparing a .38SPL aginst a
357 Mag., power wise, but with the same repeat fire as a 9mm semi-auto.
I had a .38 Super 1911 and rebarrelled to s 45 Auto.
BEST yet.
There was zero problem controlling the .38 Super in rapid fire just as thete was no problem controlling the
45 auto, even with 300gr. flat points. Perhaps that is a personal thing.
