Re: IPSC rigs and gear - Homer? Others?

Yes the normal silhouette comps I think are different? Here people shot both .22 RF and/or CF. Some of the RFs were proper target pistols. I don't think anynif the CFs were specialist for targets.

One good thing is through this comp I can justify a greater the .38/9mm and get a .45 ACP and similar.

Four of my six required attendances done. Two more this week I hope and I am legal for the last twelve months.

I'd like to go regularly, but an hour and a quarter drive each way, though through the very pleasant and lovely Barossa, Barossa Ranges and Adelaide Hills. Vineyards, reservoirs/lakes, pine forests, hills, hills meadows, gum trees galore, orchards, etc. A drive worth it by itself. I have driven variations of it probably over 2000 times ... Still waiting to see fallow deer again though! . Only once, maybe twice. I know their country.

As said I'd like to go regularly but need the motivation to get me moving. Non handgun I don't need a range and can do it at home anytime. Different for guys in the city.

I do want to have a go at the five target steel action competitions. Looked fun and fast.

The IPSC range at the AURRPC looks very small and unexciting. I'll visit the local Kapunda IPSC club and see again what they're doing. I need to do the compulsory holster training before I can shoot IPSC.
