The advantage the 25 acp has over the 22 LR is that it feeds more reliably. Many 22 LR pocket pistols will have feeding problems, while the 25 acp just works. (Can't say much for the power or accuracy of the 25 acp, but they do tend to be highly reliable--even the cheapies.)

I can't help but recall reading a similar piece with similar conclusions, back when I was in high school. All of the dying cartridges named then are still around.
