Re: Doubles At Auction

S/s double rifle W. W. Greener - London cal. probably 310 Cadet? (32 WCF?), SN 68222
https://auctions.springer-vienna.com/en/...p;currentpos=68

"Barrel length 66 cm (26“), stock length 36 cm (14.5“), total length 106 cm (41.75“), weight 2.67 kg, year of manufacture unknown, English proof, condition 3-4. Wide straight engine-turned rib, slightly pitted, engraved with „W. W. Greener Maker 40 Pall Mall London S.W“, triggerguard and lever dark blued, double trigger, fine checkering, sling swivel, forend with Deeley release, buttstock with pistol grip (cap brittle), blank monogram plate and metal butt plate. Birmingham proof .310“ Cordite 1-125. Presumably therefore the .310 Cadet caliber suitable for Greener double rifles (given to us as .32 WCF, which is often used as a replacement cartridge - but without new proof.) Lock works, firing pins have to be reinserted. Slight crack just behind the Greener safety. "
