If you are looking for a 9.3 or smaller you are very lucky to be in Canada. There are a large variety of reasonable priced medium and small bores available from European makers most people in the US have never heard of.
You can buy a couple of different Italian SxS in 9.3, 7.65R and the like for less than $3000Can. Eastern Block rifles, that are quite good, sell in the same neighborhood.

Can you elaborate on the models (both Italian and Eastern Block) that sell for ~$3000.00CA?
I am in the US, but I haven't seen much in the way of DRs from these countries.
