Bloodnativ, Verney Carron and Zanardini make U/Os in 444 Marlin. There must be others as well. If I remember right, Valmet also offered the 444 as an option on it's double rifles in the past. Frankly, I could not understand why someone would spend so much money on a double in a rifle that would weigh similarly as a lever gun and be only slightly faster on a follow up shot but then someone who can afford it definitely thinks differently from me - my budget cannot. Double rifles were made by Westley Richards in the 455 pistol chambering for shooting deer etc in the pre war years. Who knows - someone might have commissioned a 30-30 as well. In any case, if that is what you want, go for it. |
