I have to agree with mrlexma...I had an older marlin 1895 and I cut the barrel to 16.25 inches. Loaded up some very warm 405 grain loads, and kept the original stock and recoil pad. Damn thing brought tears to my eyes every time I pulled the trigger. I could shoot no more than 2 rounds at a session before I would have to stop before developing a severe flinch. Sent it back to Marlin and had them put a new 22" barrel on it, and I backed off the loads...now a pleasure to shoot. |
