The formula for XMP-5744 for either a reduced load or a starting load for cast bullets is as follows:

Seat a bullet in the case you will be using. To the depth you will be using.

Mark where the base of the bullet is in the case.

Fill to this mark with XMP-5744.

Weigh the total amount of powder in grains.

Multiply this number by .4.

For example: if you have 100 grains of 5744 fill the case to 100%. 40 grains of 5744 will be your start load for a cast bullet or a reduced load for a jacketed bullet. Work carefully from here.

This is what Accurate Arms used to use as a rule of thumb. They don't offer this any more since being bought out 6-7 ago.
