Don't have a .416 so not a problem for me. Some of the bullet designs are actually solid brass with a hollow point. Plastic pointed tips can be inserted to improve the BC.
How far? Sensible field hunting ranges, not the BS youtube scam ranges designed to sell people stuff. . I regard 300 to 400 yards as long range. 200 to 300 yards can be difficult enough, especially for a big bore. So 200 to 400 yards.
