OK we have a winner - super-sleuth Gryphon who pretty well got it all, except for the bonus question. Sorry not skulls, but creative idea. In reply to: The country is Australia. In the Barossa Valley and the building behind is the Stockwell Hotel. The group was called the Stockwell Hunt Club. The year is 1919, and the picture was taken as part of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Club in 1894. The Club continued until the 1950's or 60's. Game hunted was foxes and hares with points being awarded for them. Rabbits were also shot but being extremely common no points were awarded for bunnies. The winner of the shoot is the one wearing the "?" and he was given a certain title. A historical article will shortly be printed in the Ezine on the Stockwell Hunt Club. A new competition will be on the next message. (Gryphon I will send you an email) |
