Excellent story. My grandfather always said that if I am not seeing any bucks(mule deer/coues deer)that I had better leave all my junk at the house. Travel light he'd say. Just take a knife a canteen, an apple and some rope, you will get em. You know he was indeed right.

I on occassion would take those words to new levels:

like forgetting the knife or the water and definately not having rope. LOL
My scout, drivers side door was a bloody mess one day, I had sliced my finger down to the bone and had to let it dangle outside on the 1 hr ride home.:o Yep, left my first aid kit at the house.
