Correct stance with a double rifle

I tend to shoot my double the same way I shoot with a side by side shotgun, which isn't the way everyone else does it. I am self taught and it works for me.

Right hand and right eyed shooter.

Left leg for forward, foot pointed forward slightly to the right. Left knee slightly bent but leg pretty straight afterwise.

I lean forward into the shot. With a shottie I found my scores at clays improved when I did this.

Right leg extended, knee only slightly bent perhaps with the heel off the ground.

Left arm holds the barrels/stock in an open grip. Not too tight.

Right arm with the elbow extended at a right angle to the body - ie check out my profile picture.

Of course in the field all sorts of difference stances might be necessary in the heat of the moment. The above stance is the one I naturally take for an off-hand shot with a double.

With a bolt action I tend to bring my right elbow more into my body and "tuck" it in, to steady the shot. Same for the left elbow. For accuracy bring the elbow under the barrel more. I guess for a snapshot with the double I would naturally go into the shotgun stance but for an well aimed shot bring the elbows in.

Any comments on this stance or improvements?
