p-14 458 lott conversion
      04/10/07 08:05 AM

Hello all. I have recently finished the conversion of an old war horse P-14 to a pretty nice 458 LOTT. My time and money was limited but all told I think it looks pretty good. Ill try to post some pics later. However I was wondering if any of you out there had any P-14/P-17 magnum length mag boxes. Numrich gun parts corp lists them but is sold out. I lengthened my factory box but would still like to find a factory made one. If anyone has any info on where to get one Id love to hear from ya! Thanks again. P.S. Just in case anyone's curious, the rifle was "dead" i.e. unfireable so I didnt feel guilty for butchering it. It wears a full length bedded Bell & Carleson Carbelite stock, New England Custom Gunsight (NECG) banded front sight ramp with hood, and NECG express base with island insert with one standing and two folding leaves. The rear ring of the receiver I recontoured to match a remington 700, if i had drilled and tapped it I could even use the M700 bases. The Barrel is 24" long and has an 11 degree muzzle crown. The finish is a fine bead blast and hot blued. I did not polish off any of the british proof marks either.
