Wrong regarding the "Woodleigh" thread.

I agree there are "bust ups" over people's pride and joys, and as long as it doesn't get personal it is not a big matter. These things happen from time to time, and NE is mostly failry tame and gentlemanly.

However the Woodleigh incident you highlight was not about "someones pride and joy". I personally got involved because the title of the thread and its implications were manifestly and obviously untrue and could have caused commercial damage to the bullet maker. Contacting the maker direct all answers were answered.

On the Searcy topic. And pros and cons.

While not relevant to a USA based customer is there any value to the "warranty" if one buys a rifle in Africa or Australia for example? International shipping is not as easy. Your rifle is away for months, there are all sorts of export and import forms to fill out. And especially annoying if it was to fix manufacturing faults, not repairs from usage.

I think there are three or four Searcy's in Australia that I know of. I haven't heard any problems from any of their owners so that is a plus.

Waiting for a rifle to be built say for a year? In Aust most double rifles including Merkel, Chapuis, Heym etc usually need to be ordered from the factory. However they do have local agents/dealers to deal with.

Africa was mentioned and "lots of PHs" using them. Which actual PHs carry Searcy double rifles in Africa?
