Purdey makes Double Express rifles on the Purdey Side-by-Side action.

We make the majority of our rifles in the following calibres, each on a dedicated action size: .375'' H&H, .470'' Nitro and .600'' Nitro. Customers who wish to have rifles built on other calibres are asked to approach us and advise us of their requirements, and we can then quote accordingly.

The word "Express" was coined by James Purdey the Younger to publicise his rifles. He likened their performance to a railway or "Express" train, which was heavy, travelled with great velocity and had a flat trajectory
