I couldn't agree more. Another bloody sportsman as "Australian of the Year" when there were several better choices who actually did something for other people.

Like the doctor you mentioned who worked endless hours on Bali burn victims and also invented a new artificial skin.

Rumour is Waugh is going to run for Parliament most likely for the opposition. Maybe Flak-Jacket Johnny is trying to buy him off for his party.

A populist choice from a popularity seeking Prime Minister.
