Swift Scirocco Too Long ?????
      09/01/03 02:26 PM

I have a real Big question any and all info well be great, opinions are great also here goes.

95% of my .308dia. reloading is for 300WBY

I have loaded 1000's of Remington 180gr. Bulk bullets, with OK preformance.
Started loading Barnes 180gr. "X" bullets about 300 or so , with real good preformance.
I want to start loading the Swift Scirocc in the 180gr. bullet.

Heres the problem folks the Swift Scirocco is Long I mean dam long heres how it measures up to what I have loaded to
date.

All of these are bullet length

Rem. 180gr. Bulk Bullet 1.230" average
Barnes 180gr. "X" Bullet 1.350" average
Swift Scirocco 180gr. Bullets 1.435" average

Know I tryed to load some of the loooong bullets tonight in 300WBY. This is what got me to post this.
I am one that likes to back off 5% of my pet loads to start new load data for a new bullet.
Well this is not possible and feal good about shooting the load. The bullets are seated so deep to get Max C.O.L the only
thing you see is the angle of the bullet no flat.
I can't find anything on the Scirocco as loads for this long bullet?
What speeds are they getting?
What powders are being used?
Any info would be great.....

Thanks for the help
