Guys,

have the opportunity to purchase a MLR308W for a reasonable price. The rifle is in very good condition and looks to have been well cared for. I already own three 308's but they are all heavy units and not really practical as a walk-about hunting outfit, not without fallen arches and back pain!!!!

I've heard these rifles are renown for remarkable accuracy for a lever gun, are not as heavy in the recoil as a comparable weight bolt 308W and capable of quick follow up shots. I'm not getting any younger and I thought this would be a good rifle to use as a general all round rig.

Does anyone have extensive knowledge / experience with these rifles? Would appreciate any info, advice (good or bad) that can be proferred.

Thanks in advance.
