I've owned one and used it hunting on two continents since 2001. I really think they are a nice little rifle for the money. No its not a Purdey, but it doesn't cost the same.

The Blitz refers to the action which is a trigger plate design that is favored by the Germans for many of their drillings. It is different from the classic boxlock action. The higher grade guns and rifles by Chapuis have false sideplates but are NOT sidelocks, they are also Blitz actions.

Chapuis are nice because you can customise your rifle when you order it: stock measurements, engraving, scope mounts or not, extra shotgun barrels, and so on. Just be aware that these are "industrial" guns and rifles much like Aya, Beretta, Merkel, etc. So the level of hand finishing on a really nice artisanal gun or a nice "vintage" gun is just not going to be there. Also like those other guns some have some "teething" problems that are not caught when they leave the factory. For example, the top lever catch broke in a short time (it was not finished properly). Its a good idea to get a good smith to take the action apart and see what it looks like inside after you take it home: this piece of advice applies to other makers I've mentioned as well.
