Without looking at a whole load of reference books,
The Holland "AB" action - which is the same as the current shape
went from ABOUT 1898 until the SELF OPENING ACTION
started ABOUT 1921.

I think the Hand detachable lever was added AROUND 1912 - 15
or so.

Maybe someone else who has the info at hand can be more specific.
