375 Weatherby Resurgence?

So...what is wrong with the 375 Wby? I can't find anything wrong with it. It will launch a 350gr bullet at the same velocity that is maximum for a 300gr in the standard 375 H&H.

If shooting PG or elk over a clear cut, it can sail a 235gr out at 3000+ FPS.

AND...in a pinch one can shoot 375 H&H ammo. I think that all the noses get out of joint or head skyward simply because of the moniker, Weatherby, attached to it. I am sure that if it were named the 375 H&H Super or 375 Jeffrys Express the whole shooting world would wax nostalgic over it, just as they do the wonderful old original. The Weatherby loading is now getting old enough that many of it's original detractors have died off.

I've shot a 375 H&H for a long time now, but have recently tried a 375 Wby in a nice older FN action Sako; the H&H is a pre-64 Win Mdl 70. I must admit that I like the added flexibility of the Wby round, and the Sako drives tacks.

It seems that I am not alone. The 375 Weatherby is once again being factory loaded. Is it on it's way back??
