OK my loads are using the Aussie powder AR2213SC, 105 grns with a 'foam' filler to take up the excess room. Seated to the cannelure with a 480 gr Woodleigh Weldcore RNSP or a FMJ. Federal 215 Magnum primer. Velocity is about 2100 fps.

This load in my rifle is quite high to the point of aim at 100 yards. It has crosses but not badly. Even so it has been usuable and has killed three buffalo, a scrub bull and an armfull of pigs to date. So I have still to work out a better load. Increasing and decreasing the powder resulted in worse results.

It has regulated however in two other .450 No2's that I know of.

IMR4831 has a similar burning rate to AR2213. AR is slightly faster. Approximately 100 grs for a 480 or 500 gr projectile. I received this load from an NE.com member and used it to calculate an AR powder. Later an Australian DR shooter confirmed my calculations.

I've tried a couple of other bullets but they did not work out more or less because they were not entirely suitable (ie .45/70 type bullets) and did not regulate. I'm yet to try a 500 gr and a 350 gr Woodleigh to see how they go.

The member NE450No2 has extensive practice in reloading his .450 No2 NE using a lot of propellants available in the USA. He is also very helpful and enthusiastic in these matters.
