Re-boring to a .318 Westley Richards

I was wondering. Just reading a thread on North American cartiridges where a poster mentioned re-boring a ..30-06 to .338/06.

I have a Mauser 98 barreled action lying around in .30-06. Itwais a Colombian Police issue rilfe rebarreled from 8x57 (or 7mm) to .30-06 by Fabrique Nationale. Need to have a look at the action more closely to work out if the action is actually an FN.

The barrel is a military stepped barrel.

I bought this action mainly to have on hand should I ever want to build a custom rifle from it and was wondering if the barrel could be rechambered to a .318 WR and re-bore the barrel to .318 (.330) ? Any forseeable problems ? Perhaps have the steps taken out as well while I'm at it. Perhaps not worth the $$$.

Reloading should be pretty easy then as well. .30-06 cases are often used to build up .318 brass anyway.
