Erik,

I'm not an expert (since I just got one, and I've not used it in action yet... ), but my impression is that is like a tripod version of the British peg stands, where you are more sort of leaning on it, rather than deeply sitting on it. So it would be more for standing than sitting and bracing your rifle on your legs.

Peut-etre JB connais?
