A complete turn for the worst I am sure but! On the subject of the L96 AI Sniper rifle. The Australian ARMY have recently finished testing and have adopted the 50BMG version of it as an anti-material rifle for ranges excess of 1000m.

Some other useless information that you may or may not want to know. The .338 Lapua Magnum was adopted by the German Police GSG-9 as their main sniper rifle cartridge. The reason why, after the Munich Olympics Airport shootout extensive testing on sniper rifle ammunition was done, it was found that the 5.56mm and 7.62mm rounds were deflecting badly when shooting through the airliners glass at the terrorists. The .338 has the uncanny ability to punch a hole through aircraft glass with a very small amount of deflection. Interesting!
