Not surprised. Part of the inevitable animal human conflict, where wild beasts are squeezed in ever smaller refuges and the ever breeding local humans push more and more into these areas.

Indonesia as a land mass of islands is tiny but has a population of over 300 million people. And the locals near tiger forests ever encroach into these forests to poach, cut grass, cut thatch, graze livestock, farm illegal food plots, cut wood, etc etc. Contact with or near dangerous beasts must be common. Poaching of wild game, means less game for a beast such a predator as a tiger to hunt and eat. A kill such as this might be merely because the tiger was disturbed and not a maneater. Or a maneater for all sorts of reasons, such as age, injury or lack of other edible species.

Its time for these bloody over-populated countries to STOP BREEDING MORE HUMANS! Africa, Asia, Central and South America have often exponential population increases. And land for wildlife is of less and less importance. We do not need massively increasing populations and excessively large families with modern medicines.

Indonesia's huge population and in particular Javans and some others, already mean they encroach on other islands populations. Pushing out and down the local inhabitants. In West Papua, Sulawesi and elsewhere. Soon in Borneo where the new capital will be. One day, and already they are looking at "un-populated" Northern Australia.

Yet the West continues to poor in billions of dollars of aid money into these countries which only exacerbates the future problems. If they would only act on population self control, they would be far more viable sustainable economies

Wildlife always looses when humans like locusts infest the entire landscape and the wilderness is eradicated.

BTW what is an "industrial forest"?
