Having trouble replying to posts, or posting new threads?
Replying
First you must be logged in to reply. If you visit the forums without logging in, you will appear as an anonomous visitor on the user list. You will be able to see the "REPLY" item on posts but it will not be underlined or operate as a link
To log-in - choose the "LOG-IN" item on the forum menu above and enter you user name and password
A hint! - click the "Remember ME" box - and enter the forums using the "MAIN INDEX" page rather than the "MY HOME" page. Ubbthreads forums have a quirk ( ) where you need to re-log-in if you enter using "MY HOME" rather than "MY INDEX" where you will be remembered and do not need to re-log-in each time. I believe if you click "LOG OUT" when leaving you will need to re-log-in when you return. Bookmark the MAIN INDEX page rather than the MY HOME page.
Other reasons to log-in include
if someone has sent you a Private Message (PM) an envelope will flash to the left of the Menu line. Similarly you can send a PM to a member.
threads which you have visited will be a different colour
you can add some threads to your favourites list in your MY HOME page
you can list a thread or post with a REMIND ME mark. A list is in your MY HOME page. Great for following up a post with a reply when you have more time, or to come back to a post which may have something you want to look at again at a later date.
Once you are logged-in you will notice in the Top Right corner of each post there is an EDIT and a REPLY command which should be underlined. EDIT is only underlined for your own posts and REPLY is underlined and usuable on any Open threads. Simply click on REPLY and a Posting page should open. When finish typing your message, just click CONTINUE at the bottom or PREVIEW first if you wish
Posting new threads
If you want to start a new thread -
First you need to be logged-in
Then open the forum in which you wish to start a thread - click on the title to open it
On the top of the list of threads already in the forum you will see a list of commands starting with POST and finishing with COLLAPSE.
Post Previous Index Next Expand Collapse
Simply click on POST and away you go. As the initiator of a thread you get to choose some extra options such as being emailled when anyone replies. Great for a Classified Advertisement or if you are particularly seeking some information eg a "tender" for a hunt or eg some reloading information
