What a great and enjoyable personal story. And sounds like a fine rifle with history even if unknown to carry as well.

If using your story for a magazine, I would still give it a try, and substitute other photos instead. They would not have to be from the actual hunt. Do you still have access to the SMLE Jungle carbine? Putting your Mauser with a goat, or a different deer would still make good illustrations for an article. IMO.
