Griffin and Howe have used Model 70 actions since the early post-war years, but curiously not during the period 1937-41 to the best of my knowledge. Perhaps they still had a good supply of Oberndorf actions at that time. I am not aware of any Model 70 actions having been used by the top British makers, although the Savage 1920 action has been used.

I did see a David Mackay Brown rifle built on a Ruger 77 action for sale in Australia about 10 years ago. It was a beautiful rifle in 7x57, one of only a few bolt rifles made by that firm.

I think the original Oberndorf actions are still the first choice of top gunmakers even today, when they can get them.
