I, too, have Valmets and a Tikka. I've had them in about every configuration at one time or another and find them to be very accurate guns that will never let you down. Except for being a bit heavy, I find few faults with them.

I finished off a client's buffalo with a Valmet 412S in o/u 9,3 and shot a nice kudu with my double trigger Tikka in 12/9,3x74r. They are easy to regulate and stay put once done. The scope mounts are QD and return well to zero. The flip up rear sight is awful!

...and the front sight is not a heap better...Also, the rear sight is fragile, and one decent lateral bump will break it off. Sights can be changed, and the price of a used Valmet/Tikka allows for some upgrade cash outlay.

I screwed up and sold my 375 Win and my four 9,3X74R sets to raise $$$ for my last hunt in RSA. A 12/223 and a 9,3X74r set went to a member of this forum...Vinny...How do you like the Valmets?

Anybody have an o/u 9,3X74R set for sale...???
