Besides, the selection of bullets for the '06 is huge so it can fill a very wide gap between your 7X57 and the .375.

Just read an article recently stating it would certainly be on the top 10 of all time best cartridges ever designed..

Think it can not be beat for all around use in most cases..with the exception of being in a dangerous game area in Africa ..while its a great round..getting charged by a buff or tuskless, I'd opt for the .375 or larger in my hands..
