If I recall Hatchers blow up tests , despite his hardest efforts he could not blow up a 30-06 Mauser sporter 1920 rifle .Finally he loaded the entire 30-06 case with bullseye powder ,epoxied a bullet in the case and fired it. The barrel blew entirely off the receiver but the action still worked. I would never worry about any cartridge in a decent working Mauser action as it might be the safest of all.
