Also, "Express" was not "a British term used to denote a more powerful version of a cartridge" but instead denoting a loading of a cartridge with a lighter bullet at higher speed than a standard load.

In agreement with you all the way. I was under the impression the Veloplex - a 'barely' necked round, almost straight, was the first belted magnum case and it actually appears to have needed the belt for maintaining headspace - unlike most of the 'belted' cases that followed. About the .275 Belted, I do not know.
