With the way weight restrictions are now on airlines, it's hard to take extra bags just for hunting.
My back pack / day pack is my cabin luggage but goes with me on the quad or for walks if needed and has day stuff in it. My boots and other heavy stuff goes in it on the aircraft and meat comes back in it on the aircraft so I don't go overweight.
I take as much as I can in my rifle case, being 'sporting equipment' Qantas doesn't charge you for the weight.
