Kaipo River & Valley NZ

Anyone here hunted and/or fished the Kaipo area on the South Island of NZ.
A mate and I did the Hollyford Track walk this time last year (or parts of it anyway) and we choppered out from Martin's Bay south down the coast to Milford Sound. Spectacular country. Just south of Martin's Bay we saw the Kaipo area and it looked interesting. A couple of huts in there as well to use as a base.
Anyone know anything about the area.
