The Immanuel Meffert company is indeed well known, but there were 7 other gunmakers with Meffert as a family name too, unrelated to the Immanuel Meffert company: Gustav, Johann, R., Max, Alfred, Georg and the Meffert brothers. Same problem with Heym (60), Merkel (12), Funk (37), Anschuetz (86)and many other familiar sounding names.
