Post WWII S&W M&P Transitional

While they might not generate the interest that the Registered Magnums, pre-WWII M&P Targets, or the Triple Locks do there are those who collect the M&P's and there are even those (like yours truely) who seek out the "Transitionals". I found this one three years ago at a local pawn shop. It's a post WWII M&P Transitional. A 5" barreled, five screw made in 1947. It has the new hammer safety (introduced in 1944 after a Victory model went off when it was dropped on the steel deck of a U.S. Navy ship and killed a sailor),but still retains the older "Long Action" that went away in 1948/49.I was very excited when I found it. There aren't that many out there.
