My buddy's wife uses a BLR .358 as her bear and moose rifle. Loves it. 250gr. Hornady's at 2,200fps.

My bro uses a Winchester M94 in .356 with 250 Hornady's at 2,160fps for his 'guiding' back-up rifle. (46.0gr. H335)

Both are splendid rifles as hunters or handy backup guns.

The BLR's are usually VERY smooth once broken in. To me, the Winchesters just feel 'better'.

The 200gr. would probably be much better for the pigs or deer-sized game. The 250's seem quite 'tough' at such low velocities, with deep penetration for rear quartering shots on moose.
