I wondered about a similar situation with a shotgun I bought brand new for some years ago. It is a Sauer&Sohn that was built in former East Germany, hand made actually, yet rather cheap. I took it to a gunsmith because the gun was rather hard to break open, so I asked the gunsmith to polish it. Instead he advised me to live with the situation for some time, and if I would, he promised me that the gun would be just fine in a while. And he was right, today the gun is tighter and smoother than any other shotgun I've laid my hands on.
