I have a Swarovski 1.5-6x42 with the illuminated circle dot reticle on my 9,3x74R double rifle. Both the circle and dot are illuminated. The brightness is adjustable so you can use the illuminated feature from daytime to dark. The reticle is in the first focal plane so when on low power and shooting fast and close the dot is very small but the circle is just right.
The reticle also works very good with out being illuminated. I shot 16 animals in Africa with it and it worked very well, including a civet cat and a side striped jackal after dark. I "sighted in" on a female leopard in a tree after dark and could see the reticle just fine.
I like this scope so well I plan to scope a 308 and a 375 with one. The battery lasts a long time and you can carry a spare right on the scope.
