larcher;

One more thing.

As to sizes, the largest wolf killed by USDA predator control personnel in Idaho weighed a little over 130 lbs. That is a HUGE wolf here. Reports of 200+ lb wolves have never been substantiated, and here we have seen specific cases of claimed superweight wolves being subsequently weighed and they actually fell within the average sizes as noted below.

The devastation to Idaho's elk and livestock is being done by animals ranging in weight on average from 70 lbs {female} to 120 lbs {big male}. Normally their gut is empty, but a big one shot right after feeding could go as high as 150, as they can consume 30 lbs of meat at one time.

Are there really big ones?

I say who cares, the "medium"-sized wolf is destroying Idaho's culture, so who really cares if there are truly big ones. Interesting, yes, but of consequence to our future, not really.
