Malc the smith says he has to do quite a bit of polishing to remove the fine turning marks anyway so it should not be a problem. I however disagree and think rust will show up as spots unless more surface is removed in polishing which I would obviously like to avoid and of course ther eis the bore to consider. There will be hell to pay if that gets any pitting
