Gor'ds loads are a bit softer than mine, yet the brass just keeps on going. We can chock that up to pressures in the, perhaps 63,000PSI range (a guess) which is right at maximum for that brass. Any higher and the brass would move and open up the primer pockets.

Both of our chambers were cut with the same reamer or system of drills/reamers - etc. They both run a .460" shoulder and .470" head. The enck length is identical to a 9.3x62, a bit shorter than a standard .375/06. I've a feeling they were cut with a reamer from the 50's when Bevin learned his trade from or through PO Ackley. The case capacity is 80gr. of water in WW brass, 78gr. in RP. We mostly use RP brass as we've pretty much settled on .35 Whelen brass.

As far as 300gr. loads - I've developed several, but my favourites are 60.0gr. BLC2 and 56.0gr. H4895. The H4895 load developes 2,470fps with Sierra BT's, Hornady BT's, Hornady RN's, Hornady Interbonds & Norma RN's. The BLC2 load chronographs an identical 2,470fps, except for the RN Hornady's - 2,385fps. The other 3 go 2,470fps averages with 5fps velocity extremes.

I recently chrono'd a BRNO with factory Silvertips at 2,472fps.

OOps just about missed a dental appointment. Bye
