Banded or not Banded Front Sight be British style?
      24/08/10 01:41 PM

To have a Pre-War British styled rifle, would a banded or non banded front sight be more period "correct"?

It would be on a 7x57 with a 24" or 25" barrel and about a .550 muzzle diamiter.

With a banded rear sight base and 2 folding and one standing leaves.

Sort of a generic old British style rifle. Not a replica of a particular maker but the general
look of the era.

Or were they made commonly both ways?

Two reasons I ask 1, is I wonder if the non banded would look a little less bulky on a slim 7x57
and 2, I cant find a banded front sight with a strait ramp and an inside diameter .550.

But, NECG does have one that is not banded but with the strait ramp.

I would like to be as period "correct" as possible.

Allen
