It's just the immutable laws of physics at work! The same reason a Hovercraft can lift huge payloads on just a few pounds of pressure.

Have you noticed that Ruger have started to pour cold water over Winchester's Super Short Magnums because of excessive bolt thrust, by virtue of their wide bases?
