I would love to add a set of scoped 9.3x74R barrels to my Kreighoff 450/400 I just bought in Reno. But at $9K+ with scope (Kreighoff price to add) it takes a big bite out of the hunting budget. I should of went off the deep end and ordered them when I bought it when the wife was giving the go ahead. Guess I 'll have to use my 375 or 300 bolt for a companion piece for awhile.

LONGFEATHER , at $9K for the barrels, I would simply buy a 9.3X74R double rifle, something like a Chapuis, or Merkel! The complete rifle is far more usefull than an extra set of barrels, as a back-up. If your big rifle goes OTS,in any way other than on the barrels, then the extra set of barrels is OTS as well. With the seperate rifle, a tracker can carry the light rifle, while you carry the heavy. This way, what ever pops out of the weeds you are ready, but if, say, you are tracking a Buffalo, and a world record Kudu pops out of the bush, simply change rifles, and go for it. With the light rifle scoped, you may thread a bullet through holes in the bush, you may not be able to see with the naked eye, even on your buffalo for the first shot. I'd bet with a second set of barrels, they would by miles away in the hunting car when you needed them.
